This one took a lot of focussed attention to make sure I colored it just right. Those tiny white bands on the edge of every “crown” could’ve easily have accidentally been made yellow or black. I love the majestic look of this nudibranch, it truly is a gorgeous animal. #30daysof #30daychallenge2020 #30daysofnudibranches #30dayartchallenge #30daysofnudes #nudibranches #nudibranch #nudi #seaslug #seaslugs #copicmarker #majestic #finedetail #blackandyellow #blackslug #yellowslug

What’s that, you say? Some of these nudibranches are getting pretty weird? Yes, I’d say you’re right in this observation. I’m sure this lovely but oh so strange nudi is considered gorgeous by his nudibranch counterparts. I’m particularly fascinated by the light blue splatters on it’s chin/belly. Wonder what those are. #30daysof #30daychallenge2020 #30dayartchallenge #30daysofnudes #30daysofnudibranches #nudibranches #nudibranch #nudi #seaslug #seaslugs #coloredpencil #beautifulugly #uglybeautiful #thestrangerthebetter #damnthatsweird #seacreatures

Another cute little black and white seaslug. This one is commonly referred to as a “sea bunny”. It looks fluffy, I wonder what it be like to touch one. Background is done with soft pastel, makes this one a little dreamy. #30daysof #30daychallenge2020 #30daysofnudibranches #30dayartchallenge #30daysofnudes #nudibranches #nudibranch #nudi #seaslug #seaslugs #seabunny #softpastels #blackandwhite #cuteslug #amazingcreatures

Costasiella kuroshimae (the sapsucking sea slug) is a very popular nudibranch on the internet for it’s sheeplike head and body that looks like a succulent. Just Google “sea sheep” and you’ll find the adorable creatures that made me fall in love with nudibranches in the first place. This one that I drew, however, is a little less cute and a little more… Sad? Grumpy? Confused? It reflects my mindset rather well these last few days as forest fires burn up and down the whole West Coast. ...

I woke up to apocalyptic skies and turned to my favorite art medium for comfort. Watercolor markers are a true delight to work with. I used my favorite colors and made Nudibranch #9 as a way of self-soothing. #30daysof #30daychallenge2020 #30daysofnudibranches #30dayartchallenge #30daysofnudes #nudibranches #nudibranch #nudi #seaslug #seaslugs #watercolormarkers #artishealing #artisselfcare #pickmeup #painttherainbow

My favorite complementary colors! Acrylic paint with a bit of Photoshop editing. Which do you like more, this picture taken in regular white light or the same artwork but picture taken in blue light? Does the blue light make it seem like the Nudibranch is deep under the sea? This nudi is called the Panda Nudibranch by some, for it is white with black dots and very cute. #30daychallenge2020 #30daysofnudibranches #30dayartchallenge #30daysofnudes #nudibranches #nudibranch #nudi #seaslug #seaslugs #blackandwhite #panda #cuteslug #finelinerart
